You don’t have to struggle alone.
Life is stressful and can be hard to endure. Everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to who is non-judgmental, validating, and empathetic. And, if more is required, having someone who is skilled with evidence-based strategies and tools to help you move forward in a positive way can be far more productive than some of the advice you may receive from friends or family members. Anger, sadness, fear, emptiness, or feeling stuck do not have to be only way to experience life.
Welcome to Counselling
Hi, my name is Chantelle. I have graduated with academic distinction from Yorkville University’s Master of Counselling Psychology program. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

My Approach
My counselling approach is holistic, integrative, and trauma-informed. My practice is grounded in humanistic-existential and Buddhist psychology theories, which acknowledge the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational aspects of being human. I do not endorse a “one-size-fits-all’ therapeutic model. While insight, meaning-creation, and compassion are integral aspects to my practice, my counselling approach is broad enough to integrate a variety of therapies for an individualized, client-centered experience.
My priorities during our first few visits will be:
listening to your story to understand who you are, how you see and experience the world
beginning to collaborate through inquiry, exploration, and observation to view your challenges from various angles
co-creating a pathway for growth and change that is most suitable for you
Some of the therapeutic modalities I draw from include:
narrative
cognitive behavioural
emotion-focused
somatic
compassion-focused
mindfulness
strength-based
solution-focused
*If you have a physical yoga practice, we can explore ways to integrate it into your therapy, as I am also an experienced certified yoga teacher.
Please note: I do not offer crisis counselling or emergency appointments. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call one of the numbers provided at the bottom of this page.
Counselling Can Help

learn new skills such as boundary setting, reducing emotional overwhelm, self-compassion, being more present, etc.
share a burden or “secret” that has been weighing you down and afraid or hesitant to tell anyone about
begin recovering from abuse, traumatic events and/or explore post-traumatic growth
interrupt unhealthy patterns in your family as a parent or adult child
move beyond shame, regret, guilt, anger, resentment, emptiness, numbness
decrease symptoms of stress, depression, anxiety
facilitate or navigate change through personal exploration and growth
move through grief or other impactful losses in life
have a safe space to talk about and process racialization, “bi- or multi-racialness”, “racial identity”, inter-ethnic/cultural relationships
If what you are struggling with has not been listed, it doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t address it. Let’s talk.
